This is a simple and fun Christmas ornament DIY.  I found these paper mache ornaments at Hobby Lobby and thought they would be cool to decorate.  Here’s what you need to make them..

  • paper mache ornament
  • Mod Podge
  • scrapbook paper or fabric
  • ribbon
  • glitter (optional)

The first thing you will need to do is to make a template for one side of the ornament.  Using paper, cut a pattern that fits in the side.

Then, you will cut out 6 pieces from this template.  You can use either scrapbook paper or fabric.  I have used both and found that the fabric works easier since this is an odd shape to glue to.

Next, mod podge the pieces on to each side.  Let dry for a few minutes and then mod podge on the outside of the pieces.

While the glue is wet, you can cover it with fake snow or clear glitter if you want.  After it’s dry, shake off the excess.

Now, hot glue strips of ribbon on each crease.  Top it off with a bow, tinsel, or embellish it any way you want.

This Christmas ornament DIY can be made with fabric or scrapbook paper to fit your Christmas themes.  So, have fun with it!  Be creative and unique!
