How to make Valentine fabric hearts…   After the Christmas decorations are down, I’m ready to put up some Valentine decor.  So, I searched pinterest for some new ideas and that’s when I found fabric heart bouquets.  So, I looked through my stash of fabric and found the ones I wanted to use.

What you will need to make your bouquet:

  • 3 – 4 different fabrics
  • polyfil stuffing
  • 3 – 4 wooden dowel rods
  • hot glue gun

I cut out a template of a heart out of paper, which was about 5 x 7 inches.  Cut out 2 hearts out of the same fabric and place them wrong sides together.  Sew or hot glue around leaving a small opening at the tip of the heart.

I used pinking shears to cut around the heart.  You don’t have to do that if you don’t have the shears.

Then you will need to stuff the heart with polyfil stuffing.  Stick the wooden dowel into the hole through the stuffing.  Close up the opening with hot glue.  Tie a bow with jute twine.

And there it is…so simple and cute!  This is how to make fabric Valentine hearts.

I also embellished some with fabric or burlap flowers.  Be creative and use buttons, lace, bling or whatever you have around.  Make as many as you want and you will have a bouquet in no time!

Feel free to comment if you would love to make these fabric hearts.
