Hello! Welcome to my blog! Here’s a little bit about myself. I am a sewing enthusiast! But I have to say that I came by it honestly. My mom loved to sew. She was a very good seamstress. As you can see from the photo, she would make my three brothers and myself matching clothes to wear to church on Sundays! I’m sure we stood out in the crowd looking all matchy-matchy!

My mom was so happy to finally have a girl when I was born. She had wanted to make little girl clothes for many years.

I did learn so much about sewing just from watching my mom for hours. She didn’t have a fancy sewing machine, just a good ole Singer that she had for many years. She didn’t want one with a lot of buttons and gadgets. She would help me make pillows and blankets for my dolls and then eventually doll clothes. Many years later, she made my bridesmaids dresses and helped me make curtains, pillows and anything else I needed to decorate our home. And the sewing saga continues with me today, sewing and making pretty things for my girls and grandchildren.
I am now a retired elementary school teacher. Since I have always loved to sew, I started working at a fabric shop in my hometown. I love it! I get to be around all kinds of fabrics, see and visit with fellow lovers of sewing and quilting.
